Student Achievements


The following Scholarship Recipients from our 2018 batch have passed the G.C.E. Advanced Level -2020 Examination with excellent results. 13 students with 3 straight A’s are expecting admission to various universities in Sri Lanka. Also, 45 students had passed the exam in all three subjects with outstanding results. Some of these students will gain university admission and the others may plan to sit for the exam again to get better results. A total of 178 students were awarded scholarships in 2018. Out of that 122 students (68.5%) had passed all three subjects at the Advanced Level Exam. Our heartfelt congratulations to all the students.

Our sincere appreciation & special thanks to Mr. Anura Karunatilleke & Mrs. Kanthi Malalasekera from Sri Lanka, who volunteered to complete this project. Without their tremendous support, we wouldn’t have been able to collect the above information (by mail & by phone) especially, during the challenging time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic & related restrictions imposed by the Sri Lankan Government.


Following are achievements of some of our other past Scholarship Recipients:

  

  • In the GCE (Advanced Level) 2015 examination, 18 of our scholarship recipients have passed with the excellent results of A's in all three subjects! 23 other students have also passed the exam with very good results (with A's and B's). All these 41 students were expecting admissions to various universities in Sri Lanka. We wish them all the success in their future studies!
  • In the GCE (Advanced Level) 2014 examination, 23 of our scholarship recipients have passed with the excellent results of A's in all three subjects! 10 other students have also passed the exam with very good results (with A's and B's). All these 33 students were expecting admissions to various universities in Sri Lanka. We wish them all the success in their future studies!
  • Based on  the GCE (Advanced Level) 2013 examination results, 35 students were expecting admissions to various universities in Sri Lanka, with 17 of them passing the exam with the excellent results of 3 A's in all three subjects!
  • Mr. S. N. J. Senarathne, Panawitiya, Deekerikewa, Sri Lanka, was one of the scholarship recipients in our first batch of students in 1998. He had graduated from the Faculty of Geomatics, Sabaragamu University of Sri Lanka, and now practicing as a Land Surveyor in Sri Lanka.
    We are very proud of Mr. Senarathne, not only because of his achievements in life, but also because he is the very first, past SLCSF scholarship recipient who is now extending a helping hand to other talented Sri Lankan students by sponsoring SLCSF scholarships since 2013!

  • One of our scholarship recipients in 2010, Mr. Sachith Dulanjana Vithanage, has received his school's most prestigious award for the Outstanding Performance in Year 2011 at the Annual Prize Giving. He was selected for this award out of over 5000 students in the school. He received this award from one of the past students of the school, Mrs. Eva Wanasundara, the first female Attorney General of Sri Lanka. We congratulate Sachith on his achievements and wish him all the success in his future studies!
  • In the GCE (Advanced Level) Examination in 2011, the following scholarship recipients (Year 2009) have made outstanding achievements:
    • Miss. Osanda Lakshana Amarasinghe - 3 A's; 1st in Commerce section in Colombo district; 3rd in Sri Lanka
    • Mr. H. Prasad Maduranga - 3 A's; 1st Science section in Kalutara district
  • In the 2006 GCE Advanced Level examination, two of our scholarship recipients, P. U. P. Saumya Kumara and B. Priyadarshana Fernando, have obtained the best results in Science and Math streams in the Kalutara district.
  • In the 2004 GCE Advanced Level examination, one of our 2003/04 scholarship recipients, Priyadarshana Sampath of Galle, has become the island best in the Commerce stream.
  • One of our scholarship recipients, W.M Prabhath Ranga, is the 3rd best in the 2005 GCE A/L examination results in Badulla District in the Science stream.
  • Two of our scholarship recipients have achieved the highest rank in Nuwara Eliya and Ratnapura districts in the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) examination in 2004.
